KENT
& LUCY REYNOLDS
Kent
& Lucy are both retired from the fire service in California.
After starting as a volunteer firefighter, Kent then worked 30
years as a professional firefighter. Concurrently, he obtained
his contractor’s license and operated as a general contractor
for about 20 years. Kent retired as fire chief of Gold Ridge Fire
District in Sonoma County.
Lucy
also started her fire service career as a volunteer firefighter
and retired from Santa Rosa Fire Dept. (Local 1401) as a fire
inspector. They now live and work together on their beautiful
wooded acreage in Southern Oregon.
In
2003, looking for a way to blend their interests and skills (and
for a way Kent could justify a big, new woodworking shop), they
decided to build handcrafted wood shadow boxes; resurrecting a
small business venture they had conducted years ago.
Although
they focus on emergency service personnel, as a way to preserve
the honor and traditions of these professions, they also create
memory shadow boxes for other professions, for collectibles and
to commemorate weddings.
Together
they design the layout of each box according to the items to be
included. Kent then builds the box, hand finishes the wood &
installs the items. Lucy handles sales, shipping and bookkeeping.
